When I attended the South Asian Business Council of Virginia (SABCVA) workshop, I had a dream but no direction. I wanted to start my own trucking business, but every private bank I approached was offering loans at 18% interest — it felt impossible. The SABCVA team believed in me. They guided me every step of the way, connecting me with Secretary Juan Pablo Segura, the Virginia Economic Development team, VPIC, and the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority. Through their mentorship and support, I was able to secure a state-backed loan at just 6% interest. That opportunity changed my life. I purchased my first $300,000 truck, and today, I proudly run my own business. SABCVA didn’t just help me start a business — they helped me build a future.
